'Hoppy' Easter!

Our playgroup had an Easter egg hunt, complete with personalized attire. I had to go with the brown on blue...to compliment Reid's eyes!

Our playgroup had an Easter egg 'hunt.' All but one of the kids is older than Reid, so most can walk already. It was mass chaos, but so cute! We (attempted) to get them all into a picture together to show off their coordinating shirts and onesies.

Reid definitely didn't understand the whole concept and wasn't exactly a happy camper with his new teeth growing in. This was his first time in the grass, and thankfully he didn't eat any of it. His favorite thing about the eggs? Seeing what sound they made when shaken. (the Cheerio sound in this yellow one proved to be his favorite)

Ultimately, we are so thankful for the real reason we celebrate Easter...Jesus' ressurection. And all the other wonderful little blessings God has given us are pretty great, too!!

Grandma Penny's Visit

Grandma Penny and her sweet friend Pat arrived on Thursday night. They enjoyed a very crowded, extremely windy day at the arboretum on Friday while I was pied in the face during Friday Live. The weekend couldn't come fast enough!! Reid was all smiles when he got to see Grandma for the first time since October. In true Reid form, he was immediately drawn to her necklace ;)

He did stop playing long enough to flash a gummer grin at Pat.

Since everyone was tired after working and traveling this week, we opted for grilling at our house versus dragging everyone out to a restaurant. It was so fun! The boys ran around in the yard, Reid was asleep upstairs, baby Harrison was asleep on Aimee, and we adults enjoyed catching up over a glass of wine while the men grilled.

After a delicious fajita dinner and a long day of kindergarten, Hayden was all tuckered out and found Pat's lap quite comfy...

...while Jason and Steven created their outfits for today's Warrior Dash in Dallas. Classy, huh? My favorite part is the sunburned-and-now-peeling knees from last week's Rangers game. Classic! But the best part about it is that my husband will once again have a smooth face after today and I won't have to brave the goatee again until next year's run ;) Reid wasn't a big fan, either, since Daddy's kisses were prickly.

Cousins

Aunt Laura, Ben, and Alex got to come up last week for a fun weekend. I'm sure I was more excited than Reid, but he was really happy to be around his cousins and his aunt.

Ben enjoyed taking pictures of Uncle Jason taking his picture. I think Alex just enjoyed the saying, "Cheese!" part every time a camera came out :)

Our weather has been so crazy...90 degrees and muggy, then 55 the next morning. You just never know. But I have happened across a couple of adorable outfits that Reid hasn't gotten to wear yet. Look at this cute little baseball bottom!

And this adorable one is brand new, compliments of Aunt Laura. We had all three of the boys' pictures taken at J.C. Penny on Saturday. Despite the photo studio running very late, all three boys did a great job and worked the camera. Can't wait to pick those up next week! They all had a white polo shirt and jeans, so Reid's actually came with these cute overalls.

And we rarely ever have the chance for a family photo since either Jason or I am always taking the pictures, so we jumped on the opportunity.

Happy boy with his hair blowing in the breeze (or should I say 40 mph wind?? We left the park early later because it was so bad!)

The boys all needed to get some fresh air and play time after their naps, so we braved the wind and headed to the park. All Reid could really do was swing and watch his cousins play, but I did put him on my lap and slide twice, much to his delight.

Amazingly, we did fit all three carseats and all three adults into my Highlander so we wouldn't have to take two cars to church the next day. It was a tight squeeze (and we did end up changing the arrangement the next day so Laura wouldn't have to flash people while crawling over the seat), but it worked!

And you KNOW your sister rocks when she comes halfway around the world, drives up from Houston, AND offers up a date night for you!! So Jason and I celebrated our anniversary at The Grape down on Greenville Ave. Fittingly, that is also where one of our "babymoon" meals was last year. It was perfect, relaxing, and romantic. Thanks, Laura! :)

9 Months

I have had more trouble with this blog entry than nearly any other I've ever done. Videos won't upload, pics took forever to upload, fonts are all tricked out...you get the drift. If it looks funny, you'll know why ;) I can't type above this for some reason, but the pic above is one I've been hoping to get for weeks. Reid will do the cutest things...and I'll think, "Oh, I'll get a picture some day" and then before I know it, he quits! So I have been determined to get him sucking his thumb (see how it's all funny, with his fingers sticking up?), but as soon as you turn around to snap a pic, he'll usually smile. I was ecstatic to get this one! He does suck his thumb the "normal" way more lately, but this still cracks me up. Our happy 9 month old (yes, he's actually 10 mo. as of yesterday, but it's taken me awhile to blog this month!).
